Projector
Inspection of Concentricity
To assure the utmost concentricity and self-centering point geometry, drills
can be checked and if faulty (due to off-center flutes, worn shank or margin),
corrected for their accuracy in one setting while the drill is still held in
its original chucked position.
This
can be accomplished by an unskilled operator
in just seconds. |
How
to check and correct the concentricity:
Insert the two plastic dividers over projection screen and compare the length
of both projected cutting lips by setting one divider over the center point and
the other over the OD of the drill. If the drill is off-center, you will find
a long and thin lower lip on one side and by indexing it 180° a short and
wide (higher) lip on the other side. Grind the shorter lop until both lips match
in length.
Please
note: Unless the drill is off-center fluted by the
manufacturer both lips will, after the correction,
also match in their width.
